Remote Learning Update w/b 8th February.
Dear Boys & Girls
I hope you are all safe and well. All the teachers and staff are safe and well in school and we miss you all being in school.
Some boys and girls are working in school because their parents are working to ensure we all remain safe during this terrible pandemic. I have been very busy for the past few weeks, working with the P7 pupils and their parents and with our new P1 parents for September 2021. But I have been able to see all your fantastic work that you have sent in on See-Saw. Mrs Mc Sorley is planning to display lots of your work around the school. Next week is the last one before half term and I am sure, everyone is looking forward to a break.
Planning ahead
Dear Parents,
The uptake of the remote learning packs has been tremendous and everyone is working so well, thank you for all your hard work.
The teachers have set aside Thursday 11th and Friday 12th February, as an opportunity for everyone to consolidate their learning pack work, catch up, and finish off any unfinished pieces of work. So the teachers will leave work to be finished off and will catch up with everyone after the half term break.
Vulnerable & Key Worker children in school, will have a non- curriculum day on Friday 12th to finish off this half term. This will involve some PE and Art projects.
Merit Certificates
Each half term, teachers award their merit certificates for sustained learning and continuous improvements in learning and work. Therefore, I have attached a certificate for every parent to award to their child/children, as they are richly deserved and I am sure the parents and all the staff should get one too.
After half term
Remote Learning Packs
The next set of Remote learning packs will be available for collection on Monday 22nd February from 10am. Tables with your child's pack will be positioned at the different access points they use for school. Please note that this will be a 10 day pack up to 5th March.
Return to school
It is planned that this period of lock down will end on the 5th March, with a return to school on Monday 8th March. We will plan for a full return but it is possible that the NI Executive may go with a phased return to school for some specific year groups. We will just have to wait and see.
We look forward to getting back to a full school as soon as possible.
Take care.
C O'Neill
